Dr. Pound joined the UMMC faculty as an Associate Professor in 2004 after transferring from a position at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. He now serves as the Chief of the Division of Urology and Program Director for the Urologic Residency. After obtaining his MD from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, he completed his surgery and urologic training as well as a urologic oncology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His clinical interests include urologic malignancies including bladder, prostate, kidney, testis and penile cancers as well as benign diseases of the prostate and kidney stones. He regularly performs open, laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures and maintains an outpatient clinic two days per week. He is involved in clinical trials in the area of prostate cancer, kidney and bladder cancers. He is a native of Tupelo, MS and enjoys his family and outdoor activities.
