Biography: Dr. Aru is originally from Cagliari, Italy. He continued his surgical studies in London, England before coming to the United States in 1984. His research interests include mid-tem results of off-pump coronary surgery and treatment of postoperative mediastinal infections. Primary procedures include coronary bypass, valve repair and replacement, arrhythmias surgery, general thoracic surgery and chest wall deformities. Dr. Aru has been with UMMC since 1998.
