Biography:
Dr. Kuruba specializes in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. He also is a surgeon at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He received his medical degree from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He earned the M.S. in general surgery at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research at Chandigarh, India, and completed a general surgery residency at the Providence Hospital and Medical Centers in Southfield, Mich. He also completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
He is a reviewer for the Journal of Surgery for Obesity and Related Disorders and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He also is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.Education:
